I too have been surprised with the level of support for Haslett, especially since I'm not really much of a Haslett fan myself...I just don't see how you can bring back a coach that took your team 0-10 to close out a season. I mean, how often does that even happen?

I'd be on board with Perez. He clearly has the raw stuff, but a good game plan (hello Duncan!) and a solid defense should do wonders for him.

I think the Cards have had interest in him before when he was on the Pirates so there's hope a deal could get done there.

There's no question the "posting" system to get Japanese players is screwed up, but hopefully the Cards will come down with a good one and a fair price, like the Rays did a few year back.
