Believe it or not fashionistas, Spring/Summer has arrived! What will you be wearing? I encourage all of you to try something new! There are many new shapes and styles on the market for Spring/Summer ‘08. Tons of new colors, dresses, denim and jewelry are out there for the taking. Please make note... DSly has a motto; Just because a trend is in vogue, doesn't mean it will be apropos for you! Now, lets beak it down!
Dresses are BIG this season. The large print, silk, "MINI" dress is the front runner. One word of caution... Most of these seem to be a bit too "MINI", if you know what I mean. If the hemline of this dress makes you feel like the world is your gynecologist, don't get one. But if you're stick skinny and stand around looking good, this is the dress for you. For the majority of the world, the light weight summer day dress is your key to style. These come in a variety of great fabrics, color and lengths. They are so easy to toss on and hit the town. Cute sandals and eco inspired jewelry will take it to the next level.
Spring/Summer jewelry has made a shift to the "green" world. Think mother earth. Bangles and bobbles are being made in everything earth related. IE: Shell, mother of pearl, bamboo, bleached wood... you get the point!
Belts are also a blast to play with the season. On May 30th, Sex in the City comes out and belts will be worn on everything. Doesn't matter if it's a skinny belt or wide, studded, bondage belt, strap them on anything from dresses to blouses and shake it. Remember, this will draw attention to your waistline. So, check yo self!
Finally, pink is NOT the new black. I'm so glad I don't have to look at another dusty rose twin sweater set. Think about it... pink and blue have been the Spring/Summer black and white for almost a decade now. Get over it. There are too many colors universe to be stuck on just these two. DSly recommends green. Not just any green, but that bright bold summer green. It's fresh and makes anyone look healthy and vibrant. Yellow is another color for entertaining. Brunettes especially look good in yellow. If you can't tear yourself away from the dreaded pink and blue...at least choose sapphire or fuchsia. It is all about the jewel tones this Spring/Summer ‘08
Break out of the box this Spring/Summer, if you end up looking like a fashion faux pas, remember it is only fashion. I'm off to another stylish event. Until next time, STYLE ON!
