FYI....what's worse is I believe those charges apply each way...thus if I travel as I normally do--with my clothes in one checked bag and my toiletries in another (just in case the shampoo explodes or the hairspray malfunctions)-- I would be charged $30 ($15 each way) for the first bag, and $50 for the second bag ($25 each way) resulting in an additional $80.00 being added to the air fare......and don't forget....if you want check your bags curbside, there is an additional charge for each bag checked….PLUS TIP. So your $300 airline ticket really is a $400 airline ticket. Why doesn’t American just sell the $400 ticket instead of further complicating the process by adding all of these additional charges along the way? Ugh!

Trish, what an important story/video.

Just last month I was seated next to a serviceman on an airplane. When I finished reading my "People" and "Us Weekly" magazines, I asked him if he had any interest. It took me by surprise how thankful he was just for magazines. He said he was spending the night in the USO Lounge at the airport, and this would give he something to do. Gosh, he's serving our country--for which I thanked him.....yet there he was thanking me for magazines.

Thank you for reminding me.....the USO is an organization deserving of our support and contributions.
