Paul McCartney's girlfriend Nancy Shevell has given up meat in an effort to prove she is serious about her relationship with the animal lover.
The New York socialite has been dating McCartney since last year, and the couple recently took a road trip across the U.S. together. And Shevell is so besotted with the former Beatle; she's reportedly turned vegetarian and ditched her love of crocodile skin handbags to impress McCartney and his family.
A source close to Shevell says, "Nancy has... given up her beloved steaks, which shocked us. When they traveled around America this summer, they lived on avocado sandwiches and tomato soup. Now Nancy orders veggie food all the time."
McCartney's late first wife Linda was a staunch campaigner for animal rights and started up her own vegetarian food range, which the family still run today.

Just last month Buckingham released “Gift Of Screws” his 6th solo album, (not counting his first album with Stevie Nicks, “Buckingham Nicks”). Sometime in 2009 Lindsey plans to re-unite with his old band mates in Fleetwood Mac minus a retired Christine McVie to tour and possibly record some new music. Earlier this year rumors circulated that Sheryl Crow would join Fleetwood Mac as McVie’s replacement, but that situation didn’t come to fruition.
Separated at birth?

The late Nirvana frontman's cremated remains were stolen from his widow Courtney Love in May and now Natascha Stellmach is claiming to have "acquired" the ashes.
In a statement announcing her find, Berlin-based Stellmach has also detailed her plans to smoke the ashes as part of the forthcoming Set Me Free exhibition at the city's Wagner + Partner gallery on October 11th.
However, the artist is refusing to say how she came to be in possession of the remains, telling Artworld magazine, "That's confidential and kind of magic. They came to me. And I am setting him free."

Robert Plant has put the hammer down on rumors he will join Led Zeppelin for a 2009 tour and recording sessions. In a statement on his Web site, Plant says he "has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years."
Following Zeppelin's one-off reunion last December in London, rumors of further activity have been constant. Most recently, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were said to have been rehearsing together and mulling vocalists to replace Plant on tour if he opted not to participate. "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," he said. "I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects," he added. Plant has reaped critical acclaim for his 2007 album with Alison Krauss, "Raising Sand," and will wrap an extensive tour with her Oct. 5 in Saratoga, Calif. The artists performed over the weekend at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas. There is one piece of Zeppelin news to report. On Nov. 4, Rhino will release a 10-disc boxed set featuring the band's nine studio albums plus the rarities album "Coda" in mini-LP replica sleeves with artwork from the original U.K. vinyl releases. The attention to detail is eye-popping: "Led Zeppelin III" has its gatefold sleeve with a rotatable laminated card disc, while six different versions of the cover for "In Through the Out Door" are featured. Even the complex "Physical Graffiti" inner/outer cover is faithfully reproduced. |
Today word comes out of Great Britain that a full fledged Led Zeppelin re-union is moving forward and Zep lead singer Robert Plant has had a change of heart. Britain’s “The Sun” reports that Plant realized that the band was serious about doing it without him and it made him think long and hard, and they added “he couldn’t face the thought of not being involved”.
If the story is true I’m glad Robert Plant has changed his mind. Now if they would just come to St. Louis….. Stay tuned….more details as they come in….

We’ll be hearing a tune from Paul McCartney on the archive today (Thursday). The former Beatle has been in Israel since this past Tuesday evening preparing for his first ever concert in that country. Sir Paul will perform today at the “Friendship First” concert in Tel Aviv. Yesterday the former Beatle spent the day as a tourist making two stops in Bethlehem visiting the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, and the Church of the Nativity. Security for the “Friendship First” concert is heavy after McCartney received death threats from Muslim extremists. A security team of five-thousand will be on hand to make sure nothing happens at the concert expected to draw a crowd of 70-thousand. The concert promoter and the Israeli government will split the two-point-eight-million-dollar tab for the security. Sir Paul hopes to spread the message of unity and harmony with his concert saying his goal is to promote peace and togetherness describing his efforts as “humanitarian, not political.” McCartney added “Music is a universal language and something everybody can unite over and enjoy together” …so true, and well said Sir Paul!

James Taylor talks about his 20 year addiction to heroin in this article from Starpulse.com....
Singer/songwriter James Taylor has pledged to live a healthy life after dying five times. The "Sweet Baby James" singer admits his wild ways brought him close to death on many occasions - and he actually passed away five times during his 20 years of heroin addiction.
So, to thank the powers that be for giving him a little borrowed time, Taylor has vowed to get fit and stay fit.
He says, "By some stroke of luck, I didn't end up with any of the diseases that my behaviour should've given me.
"I should've died about five times. So I've used up all my chances. I have to take it easy now and keep fit, keep healthy."
