<![CDATA[Prince Trying Something New In 09']]> 5875 Thu, 08 Jan 2009 02:13:40 -0700 No, it's not being nice to people. Well, unless you're a Prince fan, then it might all make sense! Already this year the Purple One has announced that he will be involved in the release of three new albums; some of which he'll actually perform on! Look for releases from the group Lotus Flower, MPLSOUND, and a joint effort with Bria Valente (Elixir). No news yet on the official release dates, but I'll keep you posted!

<![CDATA[Driving Down Under (Or Not)]]> 5847 Wed, 07 Jan 2009 01:31:01 -0700 Even if medical technology exponentially increases the human lifespan over the next several years this woman will still never be able to legally drive again. This one is all about Luba Relic; she's about 85 years old and banned from operating a vehicle until the year 3000. It all has something to do with driving on a suspended license and running into other people's cars (silly LAWS and all that). It's not so much what she did, but the fact that she's not allowed to drive for almost 1,000 years. Is that considered playing it safe or just plain overkill?

<![CDATA[I Will Gladly Pay You Tuesday...]]> 5820 Tue, 06 Jan 2009 00:51:33 -0700 The concert industry is putting a new spin on an old idea in these rough economic times. Layaway! The idea is a bit more structured than in previous applications. You get so many months to pay it off in pre-arranged dollar amounts, but the concept is still in tact. Is this a good thing? Honestly, it's not for me. However, this option will be much more accessible later on this year, and heck it may even been easier for some people! So far you'll be able to access this new "luxury" at the upcoming Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Stagecoach festivals. Crisis averted!

<![CDATA[Is It Too Soon To Talk Baseball?]]> 5776 Mon, 05 Jan 2009 03:38:59 -0700 So far, during this offseason, I've remained quiet. I am always looking forward to opening day, but I must admit this year's time off has been rather rough. As of today the official number of days until pitchers and catchers report is 40. I CAN'T WAIT ANY MORE!!! [Please send help.]

Here's a bit of information to catch you up.

<![CDATA[Yet Another Project From The Boss]]> 5643 Wed, 24 Dec 2008 03:50:04 -0700 Mr. Springsteen is officially too busy. Beyond touring, appearing on the campaign trail with our now President Elect, and working on a new album there's even more. This one might not have taken up as much time as any of the latter, but it still counts. Coming up in the new year, January 13th to be exact, our man Bruce will release a new collection of his greatest hits. Said collection will be available only through Wal-Mart and will be great like everything else he does. Minus that no-more-trick-or-treating-at-his-house thing...

<![CDATA[World's Craziest Clothes Hamper...]]> 5623 Tue, 23 Dec 2008 03:27:26 -0700 I've met some messy people in my lifetime. I myself want to believe that I keep things fairly uncluttered in my home and other spaces; organized chaos if anything. This picture, however, is the exact opposite of any type of order or organization (or reason for that matter). This car was being driven exactly as it appears in the photo; how I'm not so sure. Please join me in welcoming the "world's most untidy car"! I'm sure it would shake your hand, but its arms are obviously full.

<![CDATA[Is There Such Thing As Too Much Toy?]]> 5569 Fri, 19 Dec 2008 03:32:33 -0700 The answer is yes, and this little dandy proves it. First of all the price tag sits at somewhere over $10,000. Second it weighs in at 250kg; a bit too heavy for the average RC fanatic [did I mention it's REMOTE CONTROLLED?!?]. However, it is very, very cool. Meet the quarter-scale replica of WWII's King Tiger Tank. The top of the top-end tanks from the creators at Mark 1 Tanks. In total it's 6 and a half feet long and looks amazing. So if you have a friend that likes nice things; or know a reclusive millionaire that enjoys 1/4 life-sized reenactments of famous battles; now is the time!

<![CDATA[Safety In Numbers?]]> 5545 Thu, 18 Dec 2008 02:55:53 -0700 Isn't it about time someone compiled all the data about natural places that are the most likely to kill you? I think so too. Thanks to some smart people at the University of South Carolina, that dream is now a reality! It seems that the southern part of the U.S., especially around the Gulf area, is the most dangerous; while here in the Midwest we're considered the safest. Regardless, feel free to strap on a safety helmet and take a look at the attached map. Just be CAREFUL!

<![CDATA[6 Underground (well, more like 20)]]> 5514 Wed, 17 Dec 2008 03:36:58 -0700 When the going gets tough, the tough just build another city underneath the surface of the Earth; seriously. Check out this link to an amazing (and really old) city in Turkey. The city is called Derinkuyu, and so far people researching the area have discovered roughly 20 levels that exist below ground! The theory is that the city that exists below the above ground portions was used as a retreat from invaders in the 1400's. I think it's a very interesting concept overall. In fact, my credit score may start using the same strategy!

<![CDATA[Good News From DMB!]]> 5493 Tue, 16 Dec 2008 03:27:27 -0700 The Dave Matthews Band has a lot on the docket for 2009. Starting in April we'll see them kick off their next summer tour; which also marks the release of their brand new studio album. Though the new album has yet to be named, it has been said that Tim Reynolds will appear on it and on the upcoming tour. Also, if that wasn't enough, the band will also release another live double CD in July! It looks like next summer will be a great time if you're a fan of DMB!

<![CDATA[Weekend Movie Debacle]]> 5468 Mon, 15 Dec 2008 02:13:19 -0700 Over the weekend I had some time off, and by time off I mean a few hours of downtime after the terror that is holiday shopping. You see, I wanted to go see a movie, but came down with a terrible case of indecision. This weekend's box-office numbers tell me I should have seen the new Keanu Reeves remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original is one of my top five favorites of all time). However, I still haven't seen a majority of the movies currently in the theatres (something about the hours I keep…). In the end I stayed at home and took on some last minute projects for our lovely weather that was on its way; now the movies are a go for next weekend! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Top 5 movies of the weekend (from E!Online):

1. The Day the Earth Stood Still, $31 million

2. Four Christmases, $13.3 million

3. Twilight, $8 million

4. Bolt, $7.5 million

5. Australia, $4.3 million

<![CDATA[Car Trouble]]> 5427 Fri, 12 Dec 2008 03:32:12 -0700 This time of year car problems happen all the time. It's no surprise if you have a little trouble getting your car started on a cold day, or it makes some strange noises when you do get it started up, usually. In this particular case, there's a little something extra under the hood of the car in question; like an enormous amount of black walnuts! Some use trees, some just bury them in the ground, some sing, but this particular chipmunk is a visionary! Well at least until its home base gets towed away to be repaired. [Insert unnecessary pun here].

<![CDATA[Technology Is Amazing]]> 5397 Thu, 11 Dec 2008 03:30:00 -0700 In the past couple of years I've known a few people that have had problems with their laptops taking flight (no not literally). Now, having a laptop of my own, I've become paranoid about it happening to me too. It's a good thing for me that technology is amazing! Through this news story I came across I’ve picked up some great information. I now know that stolen laptops have the sophistication to not only report their location (via internet connection) if they’ve been stolen, but can even take a picture of anyone using it after the fact. Whoa.
