There are two places where I will openly drink beer from a can - one being a friend's backyard tucked away in U City, and the other being this place. Having gripped a beer coozie (personalized a'la Sharpie) at the South City location my fair share of times, it is now time to try out the Tin Can Tavern and Grille's second home on Locust Street. The downtown location has been open for almost six months in the building formerly known as Panama Reds. I am ashamed to say it took me so long to get there, but I had to convince myself it wasn't cheating.

And now, the low down about the Tin Can on Locust (with a silent nod to Dwight Schrute):

Question: Do they have live bands?

Answer: Every Friday and Saturday (tonight is John Henry and the Engine), and they give your basement a run for it's money with Guitar Hero night on Thursdays.

Question: Is canned beer mandatory?

Answer: No, but you save around 75 cents by giving eskimo kisses to a pull tab.

Question: Do they have a happy hour?

Answer: They open at eleven for lunch but from four 'til seven, drinks are even cheaper than usual.

Question: What are the attire recommendations?

Answer: The best part about this place? Everyting from sandals to Choos come in those doors.

Final Question: Why should I go there?

Final Answer: The atmosphere is come one, come all, but it is one of the greatest cheap date night secrets in St. Louis.
