After hearing an ad for an "amazing fee laptop" for gazillionth time last night, I finally gave in and went to amazingfreelaptop.com. I didn't expect to be given a choice about what kind of free laptop I wanted, so when three $2,000-plus laptops were offered up - including an Apple MacBook Air - I became incredibly suspicious. I mean, more suspicious than I already was about the inevitable catch that has to go along with getting a free laptop for no reason in the first place.
And not that I'm paranoid about my identity being stolen or anything, but before I submit so much personal info about myself, I want to know what I'm getting myself into. Unfortunately, the pages and pages of legal jargon and mumbo-jumbo on the site didn't really help me out. I would much rather hear from someone who knows firsthand (or secondhand or thirdhand) what the deal with these free laptops is. Any insight?
