Everyone who has been obsessing over their torrid affair with the stock market has a reason to crack a smile, even if it is slight, no matter which way the market swings. Depending on the outcome of the day's Dow Jones Average Houlihan's diners will get one of two free food giveaways. From now until February 27 the restaurant will treat you to a free order of Italian Donuts if the Dow closes up for the day, and if the Dow closes down you get a free appetizer on your next visit. Personally, I would be happy either way - there has rarely been the appetizer or donut I have met that I haven't liked.
Houlihan's dubbed their free food giveaway "Dowwie Wowwie," and said they see it as a way to tap into what is one everyone's mind - the economy. Houlihan's VP of Marketing, Jen Gulvik, said, "Customers loved our new donuts in December, so giving them away with the 'sweet success' of the Dow Jones made perfect sense as a way for us to treat our customers."
In addition to the free eats, if you sign-up for their email list you will be entered in a drawing for a $5,000 savings bond. I am always cautious about those email lists, but if you offer me $5,000 for it, that's a completely different story. If you have a hankering to build the stock market game into your dinner, you can hit up the Brentwood, Chesterfield and Creve Couer locations Monday through Friday after 4pm. Even if you could care less about stocks and bonds, it's hard to pass up a free food gaurantee.
- It rocks!
- Its just stupid.
- Its SPAM.
- Its offensive.
- Nevermind.
