Our city has been reporting some grim unemployment statistics over the last few months, but one local business wants to help turn that around. Steven Smith, owner of The Royale in South City, has started offering free, monthly resume clinics to St. Louisans who are interested in stopping by to get help marketing their professional skills.
Smith is inviting people to bring along their existing resumes for some brush-ups, or, if you don't have one, bring yourself and information about your prior work experience to get help building one. Allison Trombley, a resume expert, will give everyone general information about resumes and then offer fifteen minute one-on-one sessions.
In addition to the resume clinic, Smith is also bringing in Kristi Holmes, a scientist at Washington University's Med School's Library who assists with the University's research programs. Holmes will be giving a free presentation about free health resources available through the library, where to learn about health topics, as well as how to identify clinical research opportunities you can participate in.
