There was either a fight scene in the video or a brownie fell on the ground.

The Arch Rival Rollers Girls had their skates oiled, elbow pads strapped and they were ready for their close-up on Saturday. The Breeders, who made a splash on the music scene in '93 with their single "Cannonball," are releasing a new EP this year and they came to St. Louis to film a video for their soon to be released track "Fate to Fatal" featuring our city's dashing derby ladies.

ToastedRav was invited up to The Skatium in South City to catch some behind the scenes footage of the music video's shoot and to talk with the stars of the video. If you listen really hard you can catch a some of the new track in the background, too if you click on the Featured Video tab.

ARRG player "Joanie Rollmoan" was the Breeders fan who hooked the up with the rockers - the first video shoot featuring the St. Louis derby girls. The gals played through real bouts and skated their hearts out for almost eight hours on Valentine's Day for the shoot. The league was pumped to be a part of the "Fate to Fatal" video and some of the die-hard fans were even featured lip-syncing and playing tambourines on the side lines.

When this year's EP is released, it will make the fifth disc in The Breeders' library and their third EP. You can check out some of their past releases and learn more about the band, formed by Kim Deal (of Pixies fame) and her sister Kelley Deal, by checking out their website, Breeder's Digest.
