Back in the day, Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill was my very first CD. I practically knew every word to every song on the album, and I don't think I'm alone in that I can still sing any of her old tunes when they're played. For that reason, her weird warblings will always hold a special place in my heart.
The other day, I flipped on my radio and almost flipped out - Alanis was back and had a popular new song on the radio! Or at least that's what I thought the first few times I heard "Thinking of You." Eventually, I clued in to the fact that the song is actually one of Miss Katy Perry's, but the similarities sure had me fooled. From the style of their voices to the depressing mood of their tunes, these two ladies have more in common than I originally thought.
