Normally, you might not think of heading to a nursing home-sponsored event when mapping out your plans for the weekend, but this Sunday, you might want to do just that. For the Manor Grove's "Soup's On" Cook-Off this weekend, many of St. Louis' best restaurants will all be in one place, and they're ready to ladle. That's right - four hours of steaming soup.
Where: The Kirkwood Community Center
When: From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 22
Cost: Adults are $8, kids are $4, little tykes are FREE
Before you write this off as a potentially yawn-worthy stint with your elders, you might want to know that the participating restaurants are anything but boring. Bar Louie, Big Bear Grill, The Soup Man!, Sweet Tomatoes, Gianino's Restaurant, J Bucks, McAlister's Deli and many other local eateries are prepping their ladles for this Sunday. After sampling all of the hearty deliciousness, you can even vote on the "people's choice" best soup in STL.
