It only takes a few months married life to put you in serious nesting mode. I was hardly back from our honeymoon before I started remodeling our whole kitchen and upstairs bathroom in my mind. With the economy on the fritz and a jam-packed schedule the call of granite counter tops and cherry wood cabinets is still but a nesting notion. With the current housing market selling the farm and buying our dream home isn't in the cards for many of us either. Our chance to the best of what we've got and turning our current home base into a place that even Hef could love is just two weeks away at the 32nd Annual St. Louis Home and Garden Show.

When: March 5 through 7 from 10am-9pm and March 8 from 10am-5pm

Where: America's Center and The Edward Jones Dome

What: More that 600 local home improvement, gardening and building gurus will be on hand to show you their goods, offer discounts and give you advice for your home projects. Plus there will be live music, and a demonstration on how to make home repiars with a can of Coke, Miracle Whip and Kool-Aid (no joke) by Joey Green "The Pantry Professor."

Tickets are $9 for adults, $4 for kiddos ages 6-12 and free for the small-fries under 5. ToastedRav readers have a chance to win one of ten free VIP passes for the show, just click the tab.

Everyone has their home improvement wish list that they are dying to start tackling, and spring is the perfect time to get started. With enough time and resources you can find the best deal on those kitchen upgrades or learn how to turn your deck into a tiki palace yourself to make your current home your dream home without draining a single college fund.
