Mardi Gras parade day is upon us, and no one does it up fancy like Soulard. For those of us heading down to catch some beads and drink some suds, there are rules to obey and fines to avoid. Save those hard-earned dollars for hurricanes by following these rules down in Soulard:
KSDK.com is reporting that, as usual, there are streets that will be shut down and places you can't park.
Check out our easy to read map of the no driving and no parking zones in Soulard and the surrounding areas by clicking on the Map tab.
The RFT is reporting that the Soulard police, Mardi Gras Inc and many of the rest of us aren't interested in seeing your talent if you are in the parade this year, guys and gals. The list of the fines at this year's parade include a "Lewd behavior/nudity" fine.
Each instance of such titillation, if spied by officials, will cost the offending float a $100 fine, levied by Soulard Mardi Gras organizer Mardi Gras Inc.
According to the fine list, you can also get slapped with owing a hundred bucks for "throwing beads in disbandment." I am not sure how much you would owe for throwing beads without abandon, but you had best be "banded" in some way if your going to be launching those cheap necklaces at folks.
And don't forget boys and girls, public urination isn't pretty nor is it legal - ever. Have fun, be safe and don't drink yellow hurricanes even if they are free.
Just wondering.
'Cause I'd gladly post a Benjamin to bond certain potential repeat offenders.
