VS.
This Saturday, while many St. Louisans were freezing their butts at Mardi Gras in Soulard, some of the Cornbread Show was partying hardy at CHUCK E. CHEESE! Seriously, Producer Annie and her husband Brian threw a 3rd Birthday party for their daughter Abby there, and Cornbread and Lisa brought Addie Lou, and Tracy and I brought Ally and our Abby. What is it about Chuck E Cheese? I generally dread our visits there (we just had our Abby's 2nd birthday there in October), but kids can't get enough! Ally and Abby were chanting in the car on the way there "CHUCK... E... CHEESE!... CHUCK... E... CHEESE!...".
Then, later that afternoon, Ally and I opted for a little more educational entertainment...so we went on a Father-Daughter date to see the IMAX film "Grand Canyon Adventure" at the OMNIMAX Theater at St. Louis Science Center. When we got there, I noticed they had a combo special for the TRex Named Sue exhibit, so we checked that out too. We were glad we did.
TREX Named Sue is an amazing exhibit. I had never seen a real complete dinosaur skeleton before in person, and neither had Ally. So the experience was a first for us both. The OMNIMAX Theater was also a first for us, and the film was awe-inspiring. There were moments it felt like you were flying right over the cliffs of the Grand Canyon. Tracy and I hiked the canyon years ago before we had kids. It made me want to go back again soon, only this time Ally wants to go White Water Rafting!
Looking back at the photos from Saturday, I realized how we had managed to cover both ends of the children's entertainment spectrum in one day! Check out the Gallery above to see some of the photos from the day, and check out my website to see more photos from A TRex Named Sue.
So which do you think your family prefers? Chuck E. Cheese? Or the St. Louis Science Center?
What do you think?
