What kind of a sick and twisted individual am I anyway? I guess I just answered my own question. I just read a report that Floyd Mayweather Jr., the former boxing pound for pound king has run into IRS trouble and needs to come out of “retirement” and fight again. Oh happy day! Before you get crazy and start thinking that I’m a blood thirsty leech who likes to see old broke fighters get into the ring one last time to take a needless beating for a huge payday, let’s not forget that Floyd “retired”  very young at 30 years old and very recently in 2007. He had a heck of a 2007 though when he defeated both Oscar De la Hoya and Ricky Hatton, two of the biggest names in the sport and earned in excess of fifty million dollars for both fights. And if you add in his appearance on a 2008 WWE Wrestle Mania XXIV event then you could say Floyd should have made enough money to live comfortably until his children’s children were old and grey. But… as we know in sports, especially the sport of boxing, nothing is for certain and eventually most fighters have to return to the ring sooner or later. I would prefer the former but I’m a huge fan of big name boxers fighting other big name boxers in dream matches and sometimes it takes the financial woes of some to make these fights a reality. It’s not my fault that Floyd Jr. didn’t think long term. Maybe he should have thought twice about his lifestyle choices and maybe dump some of the 10 or 12 people in his entourage that seem to follow him wherever he goes. Maybe he wouldn’t have to fight into his mid 30’s to pay off the over 6 million dollar debt he’s run up with our United States government.

I’ll pitch in to help you Floyd Jr.! But my help doesn’t come for free. You are going to have to work for it. If you sign a contract to climb back in the ring and face either Manny “Pac- Man’ Pacquiao or Juan Manuel Marquez, two guys that you know could possibly kick your butt then I’ll gladly pitch in $50 per fight. I think I know a few million people that would do the same.

  • I'm sick and twisted too, so the irony of this is beyond hilarity to me. Firstly, the dudes name is Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Don't put "money" in your nickname unless you know how to spend it. Second, it was almost exactly a year ago when he was promoting his WWE stint at a press conference, where he was literally throwing his money to his (the WWE's) audience. So, all that being said, I'd love to see him get punched in the head repeatedly for a couple bucks.
