When it comes to good old American edibles, Saint Louis is the mother of invention. Sure, we may be among the nation's most miserable cities, we may have a football team that's lately more suited for PeeWee competition, and we may have a bit of an asthma problem, but naysayers can never call us uninventive when it comes to stuffing our faces. From gooey butter cake to the Saint Paul sandwich, the Gateway City has birthed more than a few foods.
